Your daily bread on Beauty

Being a VIRGIN

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Nov 7, 2009 9:37AM

As promised, I would make this blog a mixture of both beauty related stuffs and also my personal life. I reckon that if I were to post a short post daily, with pretty pictures, and some input about my life, would defnitely make this site more alive. Afterall, I'm always cracking my brain on what I should post.

I used to have my personal blog for approximately 3 years, updating about my life. Slowly, I stopped.

And I seems to have lost the feel of writing my personal feelings out. But I'm trying.

It feels like the first time.

As though its my first virgin post on blogging platform.

So pardon me, if I make you girls bored.

I promise I will try to do this as much as possible. Seriously, I hate cherylbianca.onsugar.com to look stagnant. Blah.

Here goes nothing.

Photos were all taken last month. October is my favorite month of the year. There were tons of birthday celebrations, not forgetting mine (I know I'm shameless for mentioning this). And this year was more special, because I started studying again, on October if you had been wondering when. Then, there was this awesome party that I looked forward to every year without fail.

Halloween!
What's not to love about it?

And because I'm studying, I get to have weekends off, which lead to me spending more time with my girl friends, for girls night out, shopping and whats not!

Photos are the best form of memories. And I wanna share it with all you lovely readers.

Tell me you love this picture above!!! For some reason, I'm pretty much into taking photos, but I don't own a DSLR. Just a semi pro camera, and I try my best to take photos for keepsake purposes. My photos may not be AWESOME, FANTASTIC, or what you have there, but still, I hope you girls love it. Make a guess where I took this. I went there on my birthday. Don't you just love infinity pool?

One of my favorite hangout during late nights. And I'm there for...

You got your answer up there!

In school, studying can get real tough and stressful. You and I know that. My way of coping?

P-A-R-T-Y

I love going to clubs, but sometimes due to commitments, I can't go as frequent as I wish to.

And sometimes I wish time could slow down for me, so that I will have ample time to do my studies, and finish up the neccessary.

Then there are times that things are beyond control and that totally drives me crazy.

Which leads me to doing weird things, like...

Nah, just kidding. But I must say, I like that picture alot too. Thought of putting it up as my header.

Ok, its getting really late right now, and I hope you enjoy this visual post. More to come if there's good response.

For now, I'm going to do my favorite hobby! Something I do unconsciously when I'm reading my books on a long day. Something that I need badly now.

Good night girls!

Love,

Bianca

My late Halloween post

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Nov 5, 2009 4:43AM

Everyone probably had updated their experience on Halloween, except me. So here is mine.

I was really excited for this year Halloween, because I'm going out with my favorite girls and my experience last year was fantastic. Did makeup for 3 of my girls and they love it. I'm so happy about it. As for me, I all dressed up as a devil. Devil RED.

Not going to make this a lengthy post. I'm just going to let you scroll down and enjoy the photos. =)

Try to identify whose eyes these pictures shown above, belong to.

All dressed up and ready to have fun. From left to right, Betty, Lil' Devil and 2 evil witches.

Went on down to Clarke Quay and spent the night there. We totally clubbed till the last song. One word: FUN!

Our favorite character that we meet. Dressed as a headless man. Can't help but to take a picture with him.

My girls! They are the reasons why I'm so happy with life!

I love my hair for the night. Got it straighten well with my Jose Eber mini straighterner. Easy to use, and the effect is really lasting. No curls were seen for the night.

If only I have sponsor for my hair, then I will not have extra worries to add on to my stressful life.

Ok, I'm off to study now. Will update soon.

See you girls!

5 minute regime

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Oct 28, 2009 7:28AM

Thank you girls for the vote of mixture in my blog. Am gonna work on that. For now, this short post is basically a video on how I do my usual makeup for work, or when I'm in a rush when I'm going out. Basic makeup is important to me, because it make me look more presentable.

And I have lots of friends who did not really believe that I took approximately (well, plus minus) five minutes to get it done. So since I was in a rush the other day, I thought I might as well filmed it down and probably show you what exactly I do. This video is definitely not a tutorial!! So if there's any part that you disagree, just keep it to yourself. =)

Hope you like it girls!

Take care,

Bianca

I'm not DEAD

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Oct 23, 2009 11:58PM

Did I just got your attention? Missing from the virtual world again, this time not because of work. Or rather, I've started school, and I totally need lots of adaptation. Wasn't expecting the high level of stress but it totally prove otherwise. Brain cells are drained out daily after school, which leaves me to be feeling too tired to blog. In fact, I seldom switch on my laptop now.

Shall blog on my long overdue post. (That is if there are still people reading me.)

I so wanna thank this sweet girl, Fatin, who send me one surprise. I didn't even realise there was a mail for me because my mom did not tell me about it. So while I was in my room, lazing around, I saw this brown envelope lying on my table. I was filled with excitement in that very instant.

Summon all the energy in me, and tore the envelope up and this is what I saw.

.

.

.

.

.

She can really keep me in suspense. Hmph! So I tore it once again to reveal her little surprise.

.

.

.

.

.

Indeed her little tricks got me way curious and I was determined to open the package asap. I can't keep up with the suspense any longer. haha... and so, with one last damage done to all the tearing, I'm presented with....

Eeeks... I was uber happy with my gifts from her. LA colours are one of my favorite makeup and the retail price is really friendly to your pocket. I love how neon and colourful it is. Though I'm into more of a nude look of the late, neon colours will certainly come in handy soon.

A very careless me spoilt part of the palette while opening it. What a klutz!

There's also this Bodyshop lipgloss.

It looks really shimmery, but upon application, it looks really natural. Very suitable for my daily use to school now. =)

Thank you babe! I love your little surprise!!!

And another good news, well, at least for me. I've finally found a shop which is really convenient for me to get my Kerasys hair treatment cream. If you do not know what Kerasys is, you can read it here. Its one of my most popular search in my blog and I can tell you how good Kerasys is to my hair. So imagine my happiness when I was at Jurong East, I popped into this shop, and saw it right in front of me. Grabbed 2 bottles of it on the spot and bought 1 Kerasys shampoo too. I'm so keen to try it.

Total damage was $46. However to my disappointment, the shampoo was too rich for my hair, that my hair seems to be more dry than it usually was. Ain't going to get it the next time round. Their treatment cream is still the best!!

Hope you like my little overdue update here. I was just thinking, since I'm so busy and always take such a long time to post about beauty stuffs, would it be good if I post some personal stuffs too? Like say, this blog is gonna be like my personal space where you will know what's going on in my life, and of course, adding more beauty stuffs. What you think girls? Purely beauty related posts or a mixture? Comment about it ya?

Shall see you girls again!

Love,

Bianca

Dyeing hair DIY

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Oct 17, 2009 10:27AM

I'm gone for a pretty long time, and definitely had lots of fun during my birthday week. Right after that, I'm back to work, and now, I'm preparing myself for school life again. Hopefully I'm able to adapt to it.

Have lots of things to update here, and will do it one by one. Today, I'm gonna share my review on Liese bubble hair dye. It was really interesting to try dyeing your hair, just like how you shampoo it.

First, you start by pouring the solution according to the leaflet into another bottle. Then, cover the cap and start mixing it gently, and then change the lid. With that, you are ready to dye your hair.

It was really easy to do and pretty much enjoyable too.

Gonna share the before and after pictures.

Before:

Unsightly black hair roots.

After:

It seems very nicely done. But in actual fact, I realised some parts of it were not dyed as evenly as what I expect. However, those were the part that is more hidden, so if you are not really particular, this product here does work quite well.

The colour that I used is Chiffon Beige, and I absolutely love it.

Hope this helps!

Love,

Bianca

Changes in me

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Oct 7, 2009 11:57PM

From the start of my annual leave, I did a drastic change. From my long mane which I took years to grew, I got it cut short. Something that I must get myself adapt to.

Next on, I gt my hair dyed. No more black roots for me. But will soon talk about it soon.

Lastly, I went to do eyelash extension. After hearing all the horror stories about it, I still went on ahead with it. Seriously, I'm worried about the aftermath. But for now, I'm glad that I can save time putting on fake eyelashes and mascara.

This was how it was before I put on eyelash extension. My eyelashes are really straight.

I chose the natural looking kind of extension. From front view, its not much of a difference. But from my side view, its really long and well curled. It make me look as though I'm having mascara on 24/7.

But having said that, there are definitely pros and cons.

The good thing about it is that you get to save lots of time because you need not curl your lashes and apply mascara. And you won't be rubbing your eyes because the fake eyelashes will fall off. You wouldn't want that to happen, because your real eyelashes will fall as well. But not rubbing your eyes is good thing because it totally prevent you from having premature wrinkles to form around your eyes.

The cons of eyelash extension is the fact that it is harmful to your natural eyelashes. Not forgetting that it is really tedious to take care of it. It makes it more difficult when you are washing your face, because you've got to do it really slowly, making sure not to touch those extension. And not forgetting whenever one eyelash drop, there will be a gap, which make it look hideous. With that, you've got to go for your monthly touch up.

But for now, I shall just enjoy how pretty those extension look first and worry later. Will update you girls soon when I get fed up with my extension. =p

xoxo,

Bianca

Taggie + meeting up with Eka

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Oct 5, 2009 12:51AM

Shall do the tag first. Saffy is so sweet to create it and tag me. Thanks hun!

1) What are your makeup items must have(s)?
Ans: Eyeliner, of course!

2) Who was the first makeup guru you watched on youtube?
Ans: Ricebunny

3) From the answer above, how did you stumble upon the person's channel?
Ans: My sweet colleague intro her to me. But at that point in time, I'm really not into much makeup yet.

4) How did you discover onsugar?
Ans: 1 of my friend intro-ed me an onsugar site, and I pretty much like the format, thus I joined into this community. No regrets!

5) Who was the first onsugar blogger you followed
Ans: I'm sorry to say this, but I really can't remember. Haha...

6) Did you ever buy a makeup item/tool which you end up not using or regretted buying?
Ans: Experienced it uncountable times! I don't wanna list, because if I were to do that, my post will be long enough for you to read a year. (ok, that's exaggerating, but you got my point.)

7) What do you usually carry in your makeup bag?
Ans: compact powder and eyelash glue

8) If you found your holy grail product, would you stick with it throughout or are you willing to try on other products which might end up not suitable for you?
Ans: I will definitely stick to my holy grail products, duh.

9) In your opinion which is more important, or rather, which comes first, product quality or application technique?
Ans: I would definitely go for application technique. Once you master the right application, no matter what products come into your hands, things are going to turn out well.

10) On a scale of 5, how 'important' is makeup to you?
Ans: To me, its probably 3.

I'm tagging this to anyone that's interested in doing. Its pretty fun seriously!

Ok, moving on. Over the weekend, I went to Pink room academy seminar. Neh, that one that I post about previously. Met up with Eka (Reyenal) who accompanied me there. Felt really bad for her, because the whole seminar was in Mandarin, and that poor girl can't understand. I seriously didn't know its not going to be English. But thank God she still enjoyed it. And guess what? I signed up for that course too. Shall update on that in the near future.

Didn't manage to take any photo in that seminar because its not allowed. Anyway, the nail art was really pretty. Gosh! I'm excited!

Anyhoo, right after that, Eka and I went to McDonald to have a chat and swapped our items. Given her bubbly character, we clicked at that every instance! Seriously! It was so fun hanging out with her. =)

Yes, short is the new long. My hair has been chopped!

Gonna end my post here while I excuse myself to do a tutorial. My last picture of the 2 of us, though blurry, but I heart the effect of the photo.

Red lips is so cute! Haha... Can't wait for Eka to arrange a mass meet up! Wanna be the rest of the onsugarettes!

Love,

Bianca

Cozycot Holy Grail Party 2009

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Sep 30, 2009 9:16AM

Went to the party on Sunday and its my very first time attending it. Filled with anticipation, only to realise that the crowd was really small. But hey, that seems to be good because I do not have to experience long queue and jostle around with others.

Excited to know what exactly are my hauls? Continue reading then.

However, don't expect too much photos of what's happening inside the party because I was too busy being obsessed with all the goodies in there. I was lucky to be there to catch hold on a little talk by MUA Aileen and DJ Pei Fen. The MUA was giving out lots of makeup tips but mostly they are basic stuffs. Above: Shu Umera booth

So anyway, my haul of the day was

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

A set of mask and lotion from Kose for mummy

and

Something from

DERMALOGICA

I have a friend who insisted that I should try out this brand because its really good. That's quoting from her. And I know I can only purchase it from Leonard Drake and some other facial salon. So I thought since they are having a booth here, I might as well purchase it. I have no idea what to get, or whichever product is good for my skin, so the sales assistant introduced me to this set.

According to her, people who had never use Dermalogica before, should use this set, as its suitable for dry and sensitive skin. So I bought this set at $84 (if I didn't remember wrongly) and I got a tinted moisturizer free.

This set is inclusive of a cleanser, a toner, a moisturizer, an exfoliant and a lip balm.

And your eyes are definitely not playing a trick on you. The tinted moisturizer that they threw in as a free gift worth $70 plus is a retail size moisturizer. Not sample size. I love the deal!!!! I save lots of money. heez...

So what's with all these bags?

When you first register yourself, you already get a free goodie bag. Inside the bag, there are mostly brochures and samples in sachet. And for every $100 you spent, you get a free goodie bag as well. As for me, that goodie bag was split into 2 bags.

The above picture illustrate it all. And this time round, the goodies in there are mostly retail size. So many of it will come useful in time. Imagine the moo lah I save.

Overall, I had my share of fun at the party, and if you are wondering about the rest who attend, you can see their comments here.

Would you all like a review on the Dermalogica products? Update me ya?

With love,

Bianca

P.S. Reyenal, I've booked the nail art slot already! See ya!

Don't miss this chance!

Posted By cherylbianca ~ Sep 27, 2009 8:54AM

While I was at the Holy Grail party, I saw Pink Room int'l at one of those booth, and was delighted to know that they are holding a FREE NAIL ART DEMO SESSION. I love nail art designs, and am really interested to know how those wonderful manicurist does their job. My job restricts me from having fanciful nails, and since I'm having annual leave that week, I thought it would be a good idea to head down.

What do you girls think? Anyone else interested? I so wanna go.
